1. Data controller
Lìmes Sàrl (“we”, the “Owner”) is responsible for the processing of personal data described in this policy, which applies to the website www.limesglobal.com (the “Website”).
Applicable law
As a company based in Geneva, we process personal data in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection of 25 September 2020 (FADP / nLPD) and its Ordinance (DPO / OPDo). Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) also applies — for example when we offer our services to people in the European Union — we comply with it as well.
2. Data we collect
Data you provide through the contact form
- Email address (required)
- Your request — the message you write (required)
- Phone number (optional)
- Company (optional)
- Your choice on the consent checkbox for updates and communications
Fields marked as required are needed to answer you; without them we cannot handle your request. Optional fields can be left empty with no consequence. If you are unsure which data is required, just ask us.
Please do not include sensitive information about yourself or others in the request unless it is necessary. If you share personal data of third parties, you are responsible for doing so lawfully.
Usage data
When you browse the Website, technical data is collected automatically — for example your IP address, browser and operating system, the pages requested and the time of the request (“Usage Data”). The Website does not use cookies: see the Cookie Policy.
3. Purposes and legal basis
We process personal data only for the purposes below, in good faith and to the extent necessary, in line with the principles of the FADP. Where the GDPR applies, the legal basis is indicated for each purpose. We do not use your data for automated individual decisions or profiling.
We process your data to:
- Manage contacts and reply to your request — for example to prepare a bespoke offer. Legal basis: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract.
- Send you updates and communications, only if you tick the consent box in the form. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- Operate and secure the Website, detect abuse or fraudulent activity and keep system logs. Legal basis: our legitimate interest.
- Comply with legal obligations, respond to requests from authorities and protect our rights and those of our clients or third parties. Legal basis: legal obligation and legitimate interest.
We will gladly clarify which legal basis applies to a specific processing activity, and whether providing certain data is a legal or contractual requirement.
4. Third-party services
We use the following providers, which process data on our behalf:

5. How and where data is processed
Methods and security
We take appropriate security measures to prevent unauthorised access, disclosure, modification or destruction of data. Processing is carried out with IT tools, following procedures strictly related to the purposes above.
Besides Lìmes, data may be accessible to people involved in running the Website and our business (administration, sales, legal, system administration) and to external providers appointed as data processors where necessary — for example hosting and IT providers or communication services. The up-to-date list of processors is available on request.
Place
Data is processed at our offices in Geneva and wherever the parties involved in the processing are located. Some providers, such as Mailchimp, are based in the United States, so your data may be transferred outside Switzerland and the European Union.
Transfers to countries whose legislation does not ensure an adequate level of protection, as listed by the Swiss Federal Council, take place only with appropriate safeguards — for example the Swiss-US and EU-US Data Privacy Framework, where the recipient is certified, or standard contractual clauses recognised by the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC). You may ask us for details of these safeguards.
6. Retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected for:
- data related to a request or a contract is kept until the request has been handled or the contract fully performed;
- data processed on the basis of our legitimate interest is kept as long as needed to pursue that interest;
- data processed on the basis of your consent is kept until you withdraw it.
We may keep data longer where required by law or by an order of an authority. When the retention period ends, the data is deleted, and the rights of access, erasure, rectification and portability can no longer be exercised.
7. Your rights
Under the FADP and, where applicable, the GDPR, and to the extent permitted by law, you have the right to:
- Withdraw your consent at any time, where processing is based on consent;
- Object to processing based on a legal ground other than consent — and, for direct marketing, at any time, free of charge and without giving a reason;
- Access your data and receive a copy of it;
- Have it rectified or updated;
- Restrict processing, so that the data is only stored;
- Have it erased;
- Receive it in a structured, machine-readable format and have it transferred to another controller;
- Lodge a complaint with the competent data protection authority (see below).
How to exercise your rights
Write to limes@limesglobal.com. Requests are free of charge and we answer as soon as possible, always within one month. Any rectification, erasure or restriction is communicated to the recipients of the data, unless this is impossible or involves disproportionate effort; on request, we will tell you who those recipients are. To protect your data, we may ask you to prove your identity.
Supervisory authority
In Switzerland, the competent authority is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC / PFPDT), Feldeggweg 1, 3003 Bern — edoeb.admin.ch. If you are in the European Union or the European Economic Area, you may also contact the data protection authority of your country of residence.
9. Further information

Information not in this policy
More details on the collection or processing of personal data can be requested from us at any time using the contact details above.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy at any time. Changes are published on this page, and where possible we will notify you. Please check the date of the latest update below. If a change affects processing based on consent, we will ask for your consent again where required.
